This is the first R.O.A.D album on Double-sided 12" LP VINYL !
Bastard child of MOTORHEAD and NASHVILLE PUSSY, R.O.A.D seem to have been suckled by BLACK SABBATH, have drunk with ALICE COOPER, have took some pills with QUEEN OF THE STONE AGE and have watched two or three movies with ROB ZOMBIE.

I first came across SGT Thunderhoof on their spilt with Howling Giant. The quality of their track compelled me to search for more. And were better to start than the beginning. There are only 5 songs on this album, but, as you’ll discover when you start listening, the SGT love his long tunes that eb & flow with walls of sound punctuated with meandering interludes. This album just gets better the further you get through it. The other reviews are right. Not their best but still really good. Harry Harrison
Moving backwards with Aver, having bought their new LP, 'Orbis Majora' recently. How did I miss such an adventurous band? The opener is a tranquil, fraternal acoustic number, next one 'Anti-matter' is notably heavier. The brilliant digeridoo-led 'Acid Reign' recalls Colour Haze at their most trippy while there's progressive flourishes on tracks like 'Real Eyes' and 'Decay'. This kind of electicism attracted me to Aver in the first place and it's exciting to listen to their formation. Michael Henaghan
